I have had my PC for 4 years      . I am running XP home edition .I have up until today had 512MB RAM but now I only have 448 MB RAM... Any idea where it went or how to get it back????

Ooops!  

Then I don't know.  Don't have a clue how you could lose 64MB of memory.  Hopfull someone more knowledgeable then me comes along and lets us both know.

Here is a site about Windows Memory Diagnostic tests if you don't mind wading throught miles and miles of text that pretty much talks in circles like most of their sites

OR you can use this Free tester, Memtest86+ that has been around for years and years.

You want the V2.00 version (08/02/2008)

You can read a bit about it if you want, then scroll down till you get to the blue screen shots.  The download you want is under the pictures.  I recommand the  Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip).  Unzip it and burn it to a CD, put it into the CD ROM tray, then reboot your machine.  The test will auto start and show on your screen

Rosalie the mem test shows no errors. And I do not get any memory warning... But I'll use the CD again in a few days... I don't know what else to look at >>> But  do appreciate the help... thanks
