Defragment individual files with WinContig

Sure, you probably know it's a good idea to defragment your hard drive periodically if you're using Windows. But defragmenting all of your files at once can take a long time. WinContig is a executable file (read: no installation required) program that lets you defragment one file at a time without analyzing your entire disk.

It just doesn't make much sense to me to defragment only one or two files.  Still I may try it just for the heck of it.

Here is the download

Hey this programs seems to be real neat!  You don't install it, just run it after unzipping.

You can choose any folder or folders you want.  It will also run a disk check first.  I think I'll try it.

Hummmm.   I wish it would tell me what the errors are.  I guess I'll run a CHKDSK

I still get the disk error for the folder on the C: drive even after running CHKDSK and checking to fix any error found.  Could be because files are in use?  Wonder if this thing would run in Save Mode?

I selected a huge folder on the D: drive and it took care of it just fine!
