All of a sudden my screen would go black, the monitor would click off but the PC kept running.  I guess .... the fans and all were going.  AFter powering everything down I wait a bit and tried booting up and everything went fine for a couple hours or so and then the black screen again.  After one or two more tries I could only view the posting screen and after that the black screen.

First thought it might be the monitor so tried another and it also showed only the posting screens and then nothing.  So tried another monitor and same thing.  So am thinking it must be the graphfic card going bad.

Bought a new graphic card, boy! those things aren't cheap.  Installed and got the same thing, posting screen and then nothing.  Looked in case, pressed on all connections, CPU, memory sticks,  everything I could press on and tried again.  Booted right up to Windows just fine, installed all the drivers and everything was perfect.

So I hooked up  my huge View Sonic monitor and the CP booted up and I'm in seventh heavern!  Until I got the black screen again  crybaby

Juggled stuff around and it booted up again, just barely for a minute again before the screen went black.

So back to the small monitor since it at least didn't get a back screen after booting up, however to be honest it never was on for a very long time either.  Hooked it up and it booted up and so far it's still going.  Keeping my fingers crossed.

At this point I don't care what I have to buy I just want to know what it is.  LOL

If this monitor keeps going than I'll be sure the problem lies with the View Sonic.  If I still get a black screen with this small one than I'm out of ideas.  Anyone out there want to jump in with suggestons please feel free to do so.

I better post this before I get a black screen.

So far the small monitor is still going.  I'm now almost certain the problem is the View Sonic monitor.  Plan on going shopping for a monitor later today.

Hey RB.  I finally got answers back from two forums that I posted your problem on.  You will be happy to know that they both concur with your diagnosis of a "Bad Monitor".  Comforting to know huh?
