I am trying out a new program called WaxMail that allows me to include  MP3 audio messages with e-mails.  I tried it out and the only problem is hearing the message.  I turned the volume control all the way up and also turned my speaker volume up also but can just barely hear the message.  The program has me to use a headset with a mic and to speak my meaage into the mic.  The headset and mic are plugged into the "mic" and "speaker" ports on my sound card.  How can I increase the volume?  Please don't tell me that I will have to install a new sound card because my wife says that I am over my spending limit fot the month.

You got me!   I have NO  idea.  Send me a clip and lets see if I can hear it better.  What did you do send it to yourself or someone else?

I send it t9o myself only.  That may be the problem.  I will send a test e-mail to you and see if you can hear it.

Yes it's very low.  I put the sound slid all the way up on the player, the sound all the way up in my system tray and the sound button all the way up on my speaker and could barely hear it.  Bobby, I don't have any idea what causes that but I have had it happen before on certain movies or music I've download.  Not often but it has happened  Wish I could be more helpful.

Bobby, try this.  Right click your sound icon in the system tray and go to Control Panels, click options and go to properties.  Check out the setting for Recording.  Mine has three squares checked.

Also check Advanced if not already checked and you will see more controls

From the WaxMail web site: Something to try ......

Setting up your microphone

Most systems should function OK without special configuration – just plug in your microphone or headset (laptop users can use their built-in microphone) and start using WaxMail.

However if you find that your voice is not being recorded correctly, or if the volume level is not adequate, follow these steps:

1. Start > Control Panel.
2. Open “Sounds and Audio Devices”.
3. Click the “Audio” tab.
4. In the “Sound Recording” panel, click the “Volume” button.
5. Check and alter the “Microphone” settings as required. Ensure the “Select” checkbox is checked. Adjust the volume and other settings as required.
