| My new USB Adapter Card with the 6 USB ports in it arrived Wednesday. These ports were positioned horizontally so they will work OK. There are four ports on the rear (Externally) and two internally. What are the interior ones used for? In addition to these new ports I have another replacement Dual USB Port unit for the front of my Antec case on it's way. Yes, Antec sent me a replacement unit back in August. In attempting to reposition them I shorted it out and it stopped working. The original replacement did not protrude enough forwar so that a USB cable could be plugged into them through the case opening. That is why I was attemptig to reposition them to a more forward position. Soon I'm going to have lots of new USB ports available. |

Yahooo!!! That didn't take long. TigerDirect has always been reliable when I've dealt with them...

Update: I got my front USB Ports Unit from Antec today. I installed my USB Adapter Card in the PC slots on the rear first. I now have four additional exterior and two interior USB ports in the rear of my case. When I went to install the front USB unit I realized that I had been sent the wrong part. The new replacement unit will not hook up correctly to the existing cable coming from my MotherBoard. The new unit has only one hookup receptacle where the old one has two separate receptacles. I wrote back to Antec but my Trouble Ticket # had been closed so I wrote to the Support section explaining all =that had happened and which part (with the correct part number) I needed. If they don't send me the correct part I will use the cable that they sent with the new part and do away with the old one. It looks like there is only one way or place to hook on to the MoBo so I shouldn't have any trouble. I'll wait to see what response I get, if any, from support.
What are the internal USB ports for on the USB Adapter Card? |
