I found a site where I can get a general location but I wondered if there is anyway/thing that will give me more specific info?

We had a member steal pics off of Flickr and pass them off as her own family - a member who has been around for years too Shocked

Wow, that's serious. I don't think there is any way for you to drill down to the culprit, however, you can report their actions to the provider along with any user name you may have and IP address. And whatever proof of what they've done.

Usually when you run a trace and get the raw data on an IP address there is an email address in all the info something like . That's where you would send your complaint.

I don't know that charges could be brought against them, depends on the cooperation you would get from the provider but they sure can suspend their account for abuse. It can be a long drawn out affair. Fishead maybe able to give you some tips. He's been there, done that.

The one that needed downloading didn't work I got page cannot be displayed - so will try again later.

The others gave me El Paso as a location (she said she was in NY) - is there anything which will give me anything more specific??

Karen try this.

1. Start > Run > type "command" > click "enter"

2. You should be looking at a DOS screen. Type in "nslookup

XX.XX.XX.XXX ". The Xs represent the IP Address that you are trying

to trace.

3. Click "enter"

but like rb said, it will only get you close and not exact. You should write them and tell them to remove the pics, and maybe warn one more time if they don't before taking action, and I'll bet they don't do it a third time. I say that because I have been there, and people usually ignore first requests and second warning they know you're serious, and you might have to throw in some threats for leagal action.

I've tried the others, no luck. I pm'd her about the pics and she left the site and didn't reply - strange Rolling Eyes

I've contacted various sites as she claimed to have a little boy who died and made various sites in his memory - all lies - which made me feel sick as bereaved families were supporting her Brick wall

We've stored all the info we can about her, I'm sure she'll pop up on another site and we'll be ready!!
