I asked this question once before and was given the solution of using the starter program (shown in SS below). But when I uncheck boxes for QuickTime on the left, doesn't it disable Quicktime? If it does that isn't it unavailablr for use when it is needed. Signed: DESPERATE

NO. Unchecking the items there will not disable them. That will keep them from starting up at boot up when Windows loads. If the program is needed it will launch as usual. AVG for instance should start up when Windows does but there is no reason for Quick Time to load.

You could also uncheck the HP Software Update, NeroFilerCheck, Code Stuff Starter .... not familiar enough with the rest to give an opinion. What is Narrator? And what does that BgMonitor do, is it necessary for it to load at bootup?

Are you thinking the reason that music wouldn't play was because you had checked off Quick Time? I doubt very much that was the reason. Probably some setting in Quick Time properties is the problem. Does Quick Time play on other sites?

Uh oh! Your my picture of Quicktime and yours don't match up. They don't look the same. For instance where do you get to the Quicktime settings? Do I need both Quicktime programs shown in my programs list? The other day when I was trying to load new plugins I think that I D/L the different version of Quicltime.
