This may not be a huge problem but it drives me nuts!
When you click in the right hand side panel in Explorer to create a new folder what all is in the menu you get? In addition to Folder and Shortcut I have what appears to be almost every program I have installed on my PC! Why is that? I don't think it should be that way.
How does this list build up and how can I shorten it?

This allows you to create a new document in any of these programs that you can do it. It cuts down one step of having to open the program, then create the document...

Most programs like to add themselves to that list. As NR said, it's so you can make a new document in that program.
To shorten the list, you'll need some sort of OS tweaker. I don't know if MS's TweakUI has that feature or not, it's been so long since I used it. I have a free utility from Xteq Systems, called X-Setup. With that utility I've removed just about all the programs in that list.

Looks like the latest version is now called X-Setup Pro. I haven't read through their site to see what's new in it, or if it now costs. |

I really don't see how you save any clicks or time. Clicking on the program to open it seems easier and less complicated than right clicking to get that menu (and how the heck do you get it anyway unless you want to create a new folder) and then opening the program.
If I click on the program in the menu it creates a folder, I don't want a folder, what would I do with it?
I'll check out that program, bigR, thanks. I think I would really like to remove most of that list. I'm sure there is something I'm not understanding but it's seem useless to me.
