Yesterday wheb I added two items to my Quick Launch toolbar all of the icons went from being in a hidden verticle column to a visible horizontal position. Before this change there were two icons seen and two small verticle lines to the right-hand side of them. If I clicked just to the left of those two small vertisle lines a column would magically appear. How do I get it to be like that again?

Try grabbing that vertical bar and pull it all the way over the left next to the Start button.
If that doesn't do it then click to the right of it, hold the mouse button down and try dragging it over to the start button. It may take several tries.
After it's moved over you will have another vertical bar at the end which you can grab and move to the left until you have the icons that you want left showing. The rest will be under the little arrows like before. |

In case the above instructions don't work, try grabing the bar next to the Start button and drag IT way over to the right past all your icons. Then you can pull the bar back to "squeeze" your icons underneath. LOL

It did it! It did it! Well sort of. Not completely bust mostly. You can see from my SS that I achieved the hidden column of QL icons with the exceptions of 3. It (meaning the male name of my PC) will not let me drag thr little double arrows all the way to the start menu verticle line. It leaves three icons showing. I messed with ( a term we PC Gurus use to indicate that we are applying all of our accumulated PC knowledge to change or achieve a goal in regard to our PC) the Quick Launch toolbar until I got what I wanted but...........I believe before (That means BEFORE I MESSED with it and got it out of alignment) it had a blank area between the word Start and the 'little double lines" just to the left of the QL icons. Maybe not. That was long ago and in another time (yesterday). Thanks Rosalie for the help. You see why I missed you so much while you were on your great big secret Family Reunion.

Apparently you did have two icons showing, Bobby. Try my second suggestion and grab that bar next to the Start button and drag it across the three icons and bar.
Let's just see how big a mess we can make! LOL
Just kidding.

When I try to drag the verticle bar next to the Start button across those three icons. it expands them into a long horizontal line across the toolbar again. If I mess with it just right it will even make a double-decker QL toolbar. Very interesting but not functional. I guess that I'll live with the the three icons showing before the "little double arrows" . As you will notice. the open window is shown to the right of the "little double arrows and it's accompaning verticle line.

Yes, that's pretty much the way mine looks. Except I have three "quick launch tool bars" that go all the way across from Start to the System Tray.
I then moved the whole thing up a bit to create another long strip. Like what you had for a while there. That bar shows my "tasks". The pages I have open.
Here is a part of it: I also have the little arrows, there are more icons under there just like you have.
The first tool bar has programs I use off line like Paint, NotePad, Control Panel, the middle one has my security and cleaner programs and the last tool bar has my internet programs like my browsers, internet connection, Mail Washer, mail, FTP.....

If you are attempting to turn off the Quick Launch toolbar, you can right-click on the toolbar and choose Toolbars. Uncheck Quick Launch and it will go away...
This is how mine is setup. I like to keep the icons off of my Desktop...

No, Bobby doesn't want to turn the Quick Launce off! He just wanted it to look like it did before he messed it up. LOL
You know what? I need a 4th tool bar like you have for all my graphic programs! Than I could just about clear my desk top! I bet I have about 10 of them on my desk top.
I may need reminding about how to create one and make sure I have the back up in Apps. Be expecting an email.

Ok, whenever you are ready. It's easy to create a new Toolbar...
