I'd like to know how others have all their trappings set up on and around their desk. I have my monitor in the middle of my desk, surge slayer on the right and the tower on the left with the cable modem on top. My printer and scanner are on a shelve just above. Speakers are where ever they will fit, lol. Everything plugs into the surge slayer.
I know a lot of people place their tower on the floor, leaving a lot more room on top of the desk but I don't see myself doing that. Although the extra room would be nice. It just seems so awkward and unhandy to have the tower on the floor since you need to access the floppy, CD, DVD, USB ports and most of all the power button.

Gee, I have a small computer desk, so the tower is on the floor along with the battery backup. No speakers, I use the ones in my LCD monitor. Mouse, mousepad, keyboard and wrist rest are all on the pull-out keyboard shelf. On the desk is just the monitor, a stack of papers (income taxes right now), a stainless steel bowl in case anyone ever gives me any candy, a small tray for my drink. Also my liquid ram on its stand, 3 stuffed animals, a letter opener, a pen, a pencil, and a multi-card reader.
My printer, scanner, external hard drive, and the laptop are all on the countertop over the cabinets that hold paper, ink cartridges, and all sorts of stuff.
Phone, answering machine, and calculator are on the big desk. Cable modem is in the living room, next to the router. We have ethernet cable all through the house. |

I have both my backup and main towers on top of a wheeled microwave stand next to my office furniture. Below on the top shelf of the microwave stand, I have my laser printer. Then on the bottom shelf are my blank CDS and DVDs, and all installation software and backups in 5 large CaseLogic CD cases. Then to the left of the microwave stand, I have a 2 drawer file cablinet which matches my office furniture, with a keyboard and small monitor for my backup PC. Then on my corner piece sits my monitor with a keyboard tray. On either side is the tweeter speakers. The woofer is beneath the desk. Then to the left of the corner office desk is a long matching desk. On top of each office desk is a standing cabinet where I store my printer paper, books, pens, pencils, markers, etc...
Then on the back of my standing office cabinets are pictures of friends, family, and LaiLai...
