| Every now and then my printer will cut off the right side of the document that I am trying to print. It does this very spasmodically. I have asked this question before, over the years, and have never recieved a clear answer. I have been told to switch to the "Landscape" mode but this doesn't correct the problem. If I remember correctly I have been told that this is a problem caused by poor programming and cannot be corrected. Any ideas? |

| Question asked: Solution found!! I'm answering my own questions now. Aren't I great? I tried it again myself and found that the assistant PC operator (Mrs. Bobby) didn't center the document before printing. On this occasion the problem was solved but this still happens occasionaly. In spite of all I do it will cut off the right-hand edge of documents. I have never recieved an answer to why. |

Bobby, I have Googled the problem and came up with just about the same solutions you already have.
The problem pages you print, are they always from the web?
If you print out an email or something from Notepad or Wordpad is it ever running off the edge?
If it only happens on pages you print off the web than that is not unusual. Sometimes if you look around on the site you may find a line that says "Printer friendly" and if you click on it, it will reformat the page so you can print it correctely.
With some web pages you just have to adjust the setting in either the browser or the printer and hope for the best. Make the side margins as small as possible for one thing.
I think you use IE don't you? You probably already know this but you can set the Page Setup from File and also look at Page Preview which shows you what will be printed out and how it will look.
Page Setup gives you these options, this is where you set the margins:

Yes I have IE6 and the only time that the problem occurs is when I'm printing pages fron the web. I'll card-file your suggestions and try them the next time that it happens. Thanks
In this particular instance I could get a replacement Mrs. Bobby but don't think that I could ever find another like her. It's taken too many years for us to learn how to co-exist to start over with a replacement. |

Yes, if necessary you might can replace the printer but I think you need to leave Mrs Bobby right where she is!

It looks like the page may be too wide for the page, so it is cutting off on the right. Some printers give you the option to fit the page to the document. Mine doesn't and I have an HP too...

Using Print Preview I you can adjust the size of the web page to fit your printer's sheet of paper.
