I have been using this neat little free alarm clock, Cool Timer, for a while and have found it to be very useful. I keep the icon in the quick launch area for easy excess but you can keep it on the desk top if you wish.
It is useful if you need to check on something in a few minutes and you're on the PC. If you are like me you almost always forget until the smoke from the burning pot roast comes down the hall and gets your attention! LOL
I have mine set to start playing music instead of an alarm going off.
