I also use the Shift-Del method to bypass the Recycle Bin.  I've always expected that I might someday accidentally delete a file that I need, but so far, to my knowledge, I haven't.  There are programs to retrieve deleted partitions such as Acronis Recovery Expert, but I don't know of anything off-hand to retrieve deleted files.  I'm sure there is a way though.  I wish I had more to offer...

I found this one, gdatuk, and there may be others.  However bare in mind what they say about free.   sunny

http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/uk/download.htm

Read the FAQ.

I read at the Fast File Undelete:

Important Note: Fast File Undelete is a low level program and has an executable file which will run from a floppy. Other programs require a Setup and must be installed on a drive before they can be used. This is DANGEROUS. Do not install any programs on a drive where you have lost data. The program you install may overwrite the data that has been lost. All data should be transferred to a drive other than the source.

Also bare in mind that just because you can see the file name (of the deleted movie) that is no guarantee that it can be recovered undamaged.  How long has it been deleted and have you installed any programs since then?

i think all these utilities...are only able to recover small files efficiently...
i tried a few programs...and none recovered the full 700 mb...
570 mb was the max recvered..they are not to be blamed..the deleted file was just in cluster..and putting them back to get the same movie again is solving a big maze i suppose..also the recoved 570mb was not playable in any media player...

That's true.  I've often heard that the best programmers are the laziest ones because they find the fastest and easiest ways to solve a problem.  I don't know if that's true or not, but if so, lazy doesn't necessarily mean bad all of the time...
