Diane asked the computer people at the bank for the key code for symatic and they said their symatic coperate edition doesn't womrk with vista. They recomended I buy a HD and load xp, thats what they did. I think all I would have to do is get all new drivers. Then theres the os rights issue, I think ms is letting people use a copy of xp to replace vista, all one has to do is call them to get an unlock key. I heard this is really hurting ms because they have to give this key to people who can take advantage and use it more than once, which puts ms right back where they were with os theft. Seems to me its a payback, why else would ms be so cruel to customers? I have been totally stressed out over vista for weeks now. I think I will give up and just use two computers, the vista for video only.

Nr, it would be hard to go from xp to w2k, ms might be able to encroach but it has too many good benefits and I don't know anything about the w2k. I love xp.

Basically W2K is XP without the eye candy. The only real drawback about W2K is the 2 GB filesize limitation. I doubt that you would have much trouble adjusting to W2K...

Considering the type of work Dave does I bet many of his files are over 2 GB. Also W2K doesn't have System Restore and that's a nice feature in XP. From the little I've worked with XP I think it's also much tougher than W2K.

Once you get used to XP it would be very hard to go back to W2K.

I bet it wouldn't be very hard at all to go back to W2K. XP was not a major improvement over W2K. It was mostly W2K with eye candy and the latest security patches built in...
