Cookies disappear after a few clicks

This is happening to a lot of users on our site, who also report issues
with other sites such as ebay and yahoo. Any status on this?

What seems to be happening is that IE6 XP SP2 does not always send the
cookie in the request header. It accepts the cookie, but just doesn't hold
on to it very long.

This occurs with no other browsers, but IE6 running on XP SP2. Firefox,
mozilla, opera IE6, running on XP SP1 and every other browser works fine.

That definitely might explain Katy's login problem here...

You may be right. However, I'm thinking that sometimes it has to do with something IX may be doing during maintance?

Today I was loged into RCF, left the pages open while I browsed around for a good while, might have been a couple hours or more before I click open the index page and I HAD TO LOG IN! Now that is really strange. I think this has happened to me at least once before.

It's possible for a session to expire too, which would log you out as well. That functionality hasn't really worked correctly since updating to phpBB 2.0.18. I'm really sorry that I updated...

OK. I've read and comprehended the article that you posted RB and read what NR said but.............why do I still not have cookies in any of the places that they are supposed to be? I went to IE6 > Tools > Internet Options > General Tab > Temp Internet Files > Settings > View Files and got the shown SS. See that it shows cookies being saved in the Temp Internet Files? Right? Wrong?

No, those aren't cookies they are just what they say, Temp Internet Files. Those are sites you have visited in the last week or so. Depends on the last time you cleaned out the Temp files and the amount of disk space you have set for your temp files. I have mine set at 100 MB but I just changed it to 10MB..
