Great. That's probably about right. I also add TEST to the Sitename so that I have a visual clue which board I'm in and to help avoid confusion...

I'll do the above ^ once you've told me what needs to be changed in phpMyAdmin as i can't log in to the "test" board at the moment because i keep getting redirected to the old board...

You need to correct the problems in phpMyAdmin in your phpbb_config table. On my Vanilla forum, these are the records that need to be corrected:
- cookie_name
- script_path
- sitename
- server_name (if you created and used a sub-domain for the test board)

Well I changed the script_path from "/" to "/test" and I can now log in. it seems to work ok now. Cheers.
I’m not sure what the cookie name is.
The sitename is the same djpassions.com
And as for "server_name (if you created and used a sub-domain for the test board)" I’ve left it as djpassions.com because that's where I installed phpbb2. The actual domain name though is djpassions.djpassion.co.uk. (its a sub-domain name which is used from the djpassion.co.uk main account) I had the option in bluehosts control panel when using the phpbb2 auto-installation to either install it to djpassions.com or djpassions.djpassion.co.uk. i just choose the direct method djpassions.com
Any good? Have I set things right ok…? |

You can choose any cookie name that you want. Just don't make it complex with extra non-alphanumeric characters or it may not work. You just want to make sure the cookie name is different from the one you use for the live board. For instance, I used phpbb2_vanilla for my vanilla board cookie...
Since you did not create a new sub-domain for your Test board, you can ignore the server_name record since it would be the same as your Live board...
The script_path should be /test/, not /test...
Other than that, everything sounds right...

I didn't notice that thread. Once I’ve sorted the basics out on my site I'll have a gander round the forums. I was listening to the forum radio yesterday while going through my forum work hehe. Some chat radio show thing was on with some guys going on about how something coco is good for you etc. Was kind of interesting haha. Cheers.  |

The cookie name for the old board (live) is phpbb2mysql which is the same name used for the test board so I renamed the test board’s cookie name to phpbb2mysqltest
Script_path changed from “/test” to /test/

Btw I asked this before but you may have missed it... how come the watched Topics picture at the top of the page is missing on the test board?

Sorted! The pic never uploaded to the test folder so I copied it from the mod folder back to the live/test boards again. Both are now showing properly.
