What shold the File name be? I looked in Win Explorer and my path is C:\bcrook\Desktop\Screenshots. Should the C: have a backward slash after it? And does this path look right?

Is your version 3.5? If it is why will my ver 3.5 not work? |

You can name the file anything you want. I left it named screenshot...
It is possible that Gadwin is not compatible with Vista so they will have to develop a new version that will work on it too. M$ has a way of changing things so that it is very diffictult to get a program to work in every OS that they have released. It is a developer's nightmare...

Why do things ALWAYS happen to me? I followed the instructions for using Vista's Snipping tool exactly but it will not do as it says it will. I can't even get past step two which is supposed tobe simple. I started typing in the word "Snipping" in the search box but snipping DID NOT appear in the programs list. I know that you don't have any idea of what I am talking about because you don't have Vista but I assure you that I did exactly as instructed.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 1 minute
Here's How:
Click on the Start Menu and start typing "snipping" into the search box.
Snipping Tool should show up in the Programs list above the search box, and you can click on it to start it.
The Snipping Tool window will appear on your screen. You may move it to an edge of the screen so it's not in your way, but it will also disappear when you start dragging a selection area.
The Snipping Tool assumes you want to create a new clipping as soon as you open it. Your screen will dim, and you can click and drag your cursor to select an area to copy. As you drag, the selected area will be darker, and surrounded by a red border if you've never changed the Snipping Tool options |

Just go to your C: drive, click on Program Files and scroll down until you find The Snipping Tool (or Smipping Tool, look for both) then find the .exe in that folder, click on it and it should launch the tool.

It may be bundled with the OS and stored in the Windows or System folder. The way M$ designs things, you may not be able to find the executable...

Bobby, I'm sorry. That was a typo, the smipping word. I meant to look for
The Snipping Tool
or
Snipping Tool
Maybe do a search on the C: drive for either. However, since nothing came up when you typed in the words the way the article said then I suspect it's not there. Only other suggestion I would have is to go to Control Panel > Add and Remove Programs > click the Add and Remove Windows components on the left and see if it's in there. OR just install one of the freebies off the Net.

I got my first BIG! disappointment today with Gawdin.
I've been watching africam lately it's a 24 hr live video of a waterhole in South Africa.
http://www.africam.com/nkhoro_cam1.php (gotta watcha commercial first).
Anyway our day is their night and the cam goes to infrared so everything is in various shades of gray and black.
An elephant showed up and all excited I grabbed a screenshot only to find out that even though it shows up in the preview something goes wrong cause when you try to view the pic it is solid black
I've tried all settings I could find and couldn't fix it. |

I have experienced that also, KeeKee, and I think it was with a video, maybe a camcorder. I know it was some type unusual graphic. I wonder if another screen capture program would be able to capture it?
