Hello everyone,

Can any one help me out as we are facing some major problem from our host. I lives in UAE and when I try to access my website I do get the error message "Network Error (tcp_error)

A communication error occurred: "Operation timed out"
The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time.

For assistance, contact Customer Support."

I said 1000 of times to my host and ISP that it is your problem, it is your problem but no one agreed. Laters one day i wrote again to my ISP and they said your host is blocking IP and that's why you can't access the website. I told my host and they replied this

"Hello,

Please be informed that the IP get blocked by the firewall software we
use. It may be due to unsuccessfull login attempts (more than 3 times),
or may be creating load to the server, or may be due to spamming issue,
or any attack from the IP. Anyway it is done automatically, We have no
intension to block you. As soon we get report about an IP blocking we
unblock it.

Can you please let your give us the list of IP addresses that they
think are blocked from our side? So that we can check them and unblock.

We have already unblocked 213.42.2.24"

Laters I wrote them that unblock all the IP Addresses through which we are not able to access the website mostly whole day and everyday!! so they in reply said

"Hello,

Please be informed that due to security reason we cannot unblock all
the IPs.

So please consult with your ISP and let us have their IP lists which
they think has been blocked from our end.

And we will unblock it."

They laters I don't know what they did like flushdns or flushed DNS completely and all the IPs were unblocked and than again after few days it has started the same problem. Interesting thing is that when it's NETWORK ERROR with my than it's not working in Pakistan, Qatar, Kuwait, my country United Arab Emirates. I said my host to configure your firewall software but they are not doing anything.

What to do now? What i say to host? I am so confused here   crybaby  crybaby

Please any one can help me out.

Thanks and best regards,

AB

AB, I'm not sure there is any more that you can do.   It's really the bad guys that are causing the problem.  If your server is getting hit by people sending viruses for instance they are going to shut down a whole block of IP addresses because the problem one can't be pinpointed.  Like they say it's done automatically. Problem is no one is keeping an eye on things and bringing up the service later.

I can see where it would very frustrating to you, AB, if this happens often.  I really don't think you an do much about it though.  Do you have many choices of ISPs?  Maybe another one would work better?

I am admin of the website and I am not able to access it Sad All other users can access it a part from Arab World, Pakistan, UK.  crybaby  crybaby

Yeah, this happens v.often. Now today it's too much. Complete 24 hours its down and it's not working with me as well as with others. No, I get only 1 IP Address because I am using ADSL Modem and it's IP changes after few days.

But if any one is sending viruses stuff fine but there are millions of other websites too who will be getting all this stuff and they are having much more traffic than my website. Than how come their firewall software is not blocking or my host firewall software is not configured well.

I am really confused. Everything is fine with my website, my host are good too and they help me in every matter but for this they always give similar reply what i pasted in my previous message.

I don't know what to do Sad

Geezzzzzzz, 24 hours downtime, that's awful!!

It's not your host that is the problem, AB, it's the ISP that is doing the blocking.  I wasn't talking about a different IP address, what I meant was can you switch to another ISP, a different Provider for your internet connections.  In my case I can't for my cable it's the only one in town.

If your Provider hasn't done anything about this by now I don't know what else you can do except call them everytime you get blocked and ask them to unblock you.  If you aren't unblocked in 15 minutes call them again.

It is working now and as i said earlier that the problem was from my host which blocked the IP's and they agreed that their firewall software did it automatically and they didn't do it purposely.

In my country the biggest problem for every one is that we have only 1 ISP which is Etisalat and they are dumb.  All Arabs, can't understand anything. It's better to have a mad person in their place instead of them. No difference at all.

I actually have this issue with my host as well. I have no other complaints about them, but this. In the last 4 months or so I have had at least 15-20 of my members blocked by their automatic firewall, some more than once. And probably more than I know as it seems not everyone tries to contact me when they can't get on. I can only imagine how many members I lose because of being blocked and I don't know it.

I have also asked my host to just unblock everyone as I just know there has to be more I am not aware, but I got the same answer, no.

Sorry, not much help, but I have had the same problem!
