Again I am told about a directory, and since I have 70,034,774,332,970,4321,908 directories on my pc, I haven't a clue what they are talking about. I am working on my catalog and it is fighting me the whole way. Without catalog, my website is going no where. Some products disapeared, so I am looking around to see whats up and I came across an error telling me to delete catalog installer & it is very unclear where that is, and I haven't a clue what they are talking about with half a path. Here is the directory path:
/hsphere/local/home/dtackett/fisheadcartoons.com/catalog/install.
Does anyone have any idea where this might be? Doesn't look familiar to me at all. Is it FTP? Is it in control panel, and if so what icon do I click on? |

I need help with my store if anyone has time and would like to mess with this stuff. I need to get this store up so I can start dismantling fisheadtackle.
I asked homestead for my money back on the second year and they sent me a cold email telling me they have it in contract. They are not helping my business grow, they have hurt my business and they are a shaddy outfit I am finding out. I can't trnsfer and I can't use my own domain name, they own it. |

Hey Dave. I'm just getting to the PC, I'm sorry but I can't be of much help here. However, I'm sure Blake will come along soon and help you.

I'm guessing that you already figured this out since the install folder is missing. Typically after installing a new php utility, the first thing you do after completing the install is to delete the install folder...
If you hadn't figured this out, the path to this folder in your browser would have been:
| Code:
|
|
http://fisheadcartoons.com/catalog/install
|
The rest of the path that you don't recognize is the full path on the server which you cannot see or access since you are not the admin of the server...

There is a syntax error in the SQL query listed in the error message. What file did this originate in? Usually the error messages include the filename and line number of the error. Where do you see this error???

I went ahead and deleted it nr. I don't remember inatallling anything though. Seems to me they left their mess for me to clean up. I just started the os program by turning it on, not install. I took a chance and deleted it but I guess that was right.
My problem is I am losing my mind lately as I am trying to rush things, and I am babysitting this week, and my back is killing me, I hope I didn't break out my other bad disc in low back. So much to do and not enough time, having another minor breakdown.
I was again having problems in ebay. I learned my last lesson, now I will aproach the whole selling thing more wise to people who look for cracks to take advantage and use feedback as a tool..
My old host is being buttheads and won't do refund my second year and I want them out of my life sop, thus the rush to get this catalog going. Once I get the catalog set up I can do away with old site. This new catalog is pretty complex and takes a lot of time just learning it all. Thats what I am doing on my new site, thats what is taking so long, I have to learn as I go. There come a time soon when I get the right idea on my page designs and then things will start rolling fast. |

I think it is possible to install the osCommerce program from the Host CPanel, but I'm not sure. I installed it on our server too but never really spent much time with it. It shouldn't be that difficult to set up though since it is designed so that a lot of admins of varying coding skills can install it...
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help...

Hey nr, I am back to working on store and have it finished for now. Now I am trying to get it working on my website. I am stuck on the first page that says I am only using a demo.
This is how it is supposed to be, now I need to remove that unwanted text that says demo page. I tried to edit it as they said, but I didn't get it to work.
I tried accessing by way of /catalog/language/english/index in a couple ways in control panel,
then I just uploaded the index (file/page) to a folder and opened in firstpage, removed and edited the least possible, then lost the catalog and got an error for line 11 (it was blank), I must have deleted too much...?
So I went in and recovered the default catalog page again. I may be able to figure this out, but I have worked on it all day and time is running out, I have to babysit all next week so no store till I get this page fixed.
Perhaps it makes sence to you and maybe you can help. They offer about three ways to fix this page. Would you take a look? See what they have highlighted in green, that can be changed. If you will, share some thoughts on this. thanks.
