I have a folder on my desktop that I send my Screenshots to.  Well I did until something changed today.  What should the Capture Directory path be?

C:\Documents and Settings\yourlogin\Desktop\yourfoldername

Is this what your looking for?

Is so just replace your login with the username that you use for your computer and yourfoldername with the name of the folder you want the path to lead to.

I put   C\Documents and Settings\ Bob Crook\ desktop\screenshots in the Capture Directory block and I get a message asking "The C\Documents and Settings\ Bob Crook\ Desktop\screenshots does not exist,  Do you want to create it?"   Below this message is yes-no. I clicked yes.  I take screenshots and don't know ehre they are going.  Not to my screenshots folder on my desktop.

You have spaces after the \   unless you have a space before the B in Bod there should not be a space there.

C\Documents and Settings\ Bob Crook\ desktop\screenshots
remove the spaces  ^ here and ^here

Try this without the spaces.
C\Documents and Settings\Bob Crook\desktop\screenshots

Also be sure if you use caps you need to put the capps in the path as well as any spaces.

Bobby, the same thing happened to me on another PC that runs XP and I think it was right after doing a Windows update.  I have no idea what caused it.  I got the same thing you did about the directory doesn't exist and do I want to create it, I said yes and after that everything was fine.

What happened after you said yes?

A folder named PrintScreen Files is created by default in your My Documents folder and I bet that's where your screen shots are going.  Follow the path that is showing in Gadwin preferences to find that folder.  Here is the location of mine:

D:\Documents and Settings\Rosalie\My Documents\PrintScreen Files

If you can not set the path you want (to your desktop) you can go to that folder in My Documents and make a short cut to the desktop.

And soooooo, now that you are completly and utterly confused .....

Confusion and frustration is running rampant here in Arkansas right now!  I cannot find where my ScreenShots are going to.  I DO NOT have a PrintScreen file in MY Documents.  I do have two Bob Crook folders under C:\Documents and Settings\ though.  Don't ask me why.  Under each Bob Crook there is a sub file  "ScreenShot" but no SS in them.  They are each empty.

Just right-click anywhere on your Desktop and create a new folder:

Then rename it Screenshots:

Then go into Gadwin Preferences by double-clicking on its icon in the System Tray:

Then go to the Destination tab and click on the button to the right of the Capture Directory option:

Scroll down and select Screenshots then press the OK button:

The Capture Directory should now be pointing to the correct Screenshots folder on your Desktop...

Thanks NR.  I had already done this same procedure earlier but it would not work.   I don't undestand why.  It just wouldn't.  But it is working now.  Somewhere along the way I created a desktop folder called "Shortcut to screeenshot".  It contains all of the SS that I have saved from earlier.  Can I move each to the new "Screenshots" folder and eliminate the shortcut one?

Yes, you could do that, Bobby, but do you really want to save the old SS?  Maybe you do but I usually delete mine ever so often because I get too many.

But yes, if you want to save them move them to the folder that Gadwin points to and delete the shortcut one.

I usually delete my screenshots after a while too.  It doesn't take long before there are hundreds of screenshots stored in the folder...
