My Canon S1 IS camera has a USB port on the front to accomodate a supplied USB to PC cable. Beside the USB Port there is a port labeled DC in 7.4 V. This is to use an electric cable to D/L pics with. I have been unable to find a cable for this purpose at Canon or Tiger Direct.com. Can anybody tell me where I can get one and what it will be called ?

That's it RB!! You are a dandy and I greatly appreciate your help and like you lots. But ...............Katy likes me best because she sees my many needs in the way of knowledge that she can share with me. If you figure that out I have more wisdom to impart to you. Thanks a bunch, RB.

But .............I have a problem! That link that you sent me was for EBAY and that ubit was listed for sale for $13.99 with $8.99 S & H. I priced the same cable and Adapter at a Canon store, Radio Shack and Office Depot for $65. I am leary of buying the same product for just $13.99 from EBAY. It doesn't sound safe does it? I won't pay $65 to D/L pictures from my camera with. I will continue using my card reader as I am already doing. That's too much to pay for that product and I'm afraid of the $13.99 one offered on EBAY. Do you think that there is any way that the cheap one would be safe to buy?

Bobby I have no idea. In no way do I recommand or suggest that you buy it. You asked for help in locating one and that's all I was trying to do, help. As I said not knowing what I was looking for I didn't even know if I had found one when I found one
Now figure that out while I try to figure out what you and Katy have going.

Bobby, that cable from ebay is ok, its probably the same thing. If you want to buy from somewhere else, I buy from pc connection and always check their price before buying elsewhere.

Thanks Dave but I have a Canon S1 IS and none of these will work on my camera. Will a standard USB Cable not work OK? That's what I have been using to D/L from my Memory Card to my PC. I have decided that if I D/L directly from my camera to use the camera's batteries instead of using the 110 volt adapter cord. I use high-quality rechargeable batteries in my camera anyway. I leave one set on the charger all the time for replacements. Thanks for your help.

No, they are all different, the USB end is the same but the camera end is different. Be sure they have the same number of pins and the right one for your model. I don't know about ebay on second thought, I bought a battery that didn't work for my model and had to get refund. .

Do you have a camera dock? I have one for my kodac and only have to press a button and it DL my images, but my olypus I hook up direct. Maybe you could get the dock, they keep battery charged. I buy my batteries, my rechargables don't last long.

Now I'm confused, the ac cable is not a DL cable, and I see that ebay cable above is an ac cable... You need that too but they are not the same, you need two cables, a USB camera cable, and an ac plug-in. |
