I think the 4GB limit applied to W2K and older, starting with XP the segments are much larger. Not at all sure how much larger, I've not had any images segmented yet however none have been as large as 200GB

The following is my C: drive and it is 25GB large. The C: drive has my OS and Programs for the most part and of course Docs and settings. I have moved My Documents to another partition.

This is the results of a 25GB partition. The 9/11 dated backup was compressed at Normal and the 10/31 dated backup was compressed at High. There is also a Maximum compression option. This gives you some idea of how much smaller the compressed data will be. I think in the case of such a huge size partiton as yours Dave, I would chose the Maximum compression option.

Well I'm working on my video today and will be for some time, but when I finish I may backup the whole pc. At least I have my drivers and everything imaged, just in case.

I believe the 4 GB limit is a limit within a 32-bit operating system although it could be a limit with Fat32 and not a limit in NTFS formatted partitions. I'm not real clear on which is the limiting factor. I know that the maximum memory for a 32-bit system is 4GB but I'm not sure whether that 4GB limit applies to everything within a 32-bit OS. We use XP 64, so our limits are much higher. I can install 64GB of RAM on my PC and there may be a 64GB file size limit as well...

Don't worry if TI splits the image files into 4GB units though. TI has no trouble putting the pieces back together again should you ever need to restore the image...

Ok, here are the limits. If you are using an NTFS formatted partition, you shouldn't have to worry about TI splitting the files into 4GB units...
