It appears to remove the Search box you have to hack the registry


Remove IE7 Instant Search Box

Shocked

The good news is that they offer the code as a download you can "run"  by clicking on it and it's done for you!  

OR copy the code they provide, paste it into Notepad, save it as NoSearchBox.reg to your desktop, double click it and it's done!

Wow! Thanks RB. Maybe I'll pass. I'm not afraid of the registry. I used to spend a lot of time at Annoyances.org tweaking 98. Just when I had it like I liked it...
