Dave, if you hit Submit and you get a "Can't find page" or some other error, you can hit the Back button and it should take you back to your post. You can either try again or copy your post and save it to Notepad for safe keeping.
I keep Notepad in my quick launch bar for easy access, I use it a lot.

ya put a memory stick in and it makes you read a menu, chose to scan and fix the drive, or open it, click open and it opens a slide show when all you wanted was the folders to load to pc.
Add a camera by plugging in and it shows you the photos but it hides the photos in programs files so deeply you have to do a search to find them. Then you have to make copy to the folder you want, then go back and delete the others. Vista forces you to do things their way, it burns me up. I hate it. I could go on for weeks talking about all the things wrong with vista. Right now my photos disappeared from my documents and I have to take the long way to access them, just disappeared. |

Hey Nr, how long is the license for ultra edit?
I just bought that RegNow search and replace and it is only good for one computer, one os, so if I reformat or buy a new pc I lose it and have to buy it again. It was $31.50 with tax. I was kind of disappointed. They wanted another $3 to get a one year license guarantee in case the pc crashes or something, within one year they will let you reinstall it. I thought this was kind of high. |

One more question, I am looking at ultra edit and I think it only edits open pages..?

Where "Advanced Find and Replace" will go through all closed files and make the changes without opening them. I can select my website folder, and it will go through all the subfolders and every document and make the changes. Maybe $30 is a good deal even if the license is only good for one os install. |

No UltraEdit can Find and Replace code in all files, including those in subfolders. They do not have to be open...
I have used UE's Replace in Files utility many times to clean up terribly hacked sites...

| It has a pretty small window for inserting code, is there a limit on how much text/code you can use? |

No, there is no limit. A lot of the hacking code covers multiple lines in the file. UE has no trouble handling all of it in all of your files in a matter of seconds. Just leave the Replace With field blank and copy and paste all of the hacking code in the Find field and press the Replace All button, then UE deletes all of the hacking code as if it never existed. Then it can give you a list of all the files that it modified if you have that option selected...

| I will have to try the free version if I ever lose my AFR. Kind of wish I had bought ultra edit. AFR does have two other find programs that comes with it, I haven't checked them out yet. I like it but the expiring with the os I don't like. My computer is old and won't last forever, I shouldn't have to buy it again. I wrote to them about it but no reply. |

The latest version of UltraEdit expanded the display size of the Find and Replace boxes so you can see more of the text that you are removing and if applicable, the text that you are replacing it with:
