Did you remember seeing a Drive Image option, RB?
Image no. Unless copy and image means the same thing to you. To me they are different.
This pro version does partition and copy. You first choose which you want to do. You get the choices by clicking Wizard in the menu at the top. If you choose to copy you're asked to ID the source disk and destination disk. Simply put, it will then copy/clone the contents of your little old HDD to a new large blank HDD.
OR you can chose to only copy a parition from one HDD to another.
Starting fresh? Might be best in the long run, easier and safer then trying to dig out all the stuff you don't need or want. I'm thinking it would take a lot of time to get the new up to your standard but heck it would anyway trying to get rid/changing your friends old stuff and settings. If you look around I think you can get an OEM WinXP Pro for around a hundred dollars, still a lot of money I know. Too bad your friend didn't have a disk to go with it, sure would have simplified things for you.
In the mean time you can work with it, learning all the ins and outs. Why is it you're not putting it online?
Yes, I thought copy/clone and image were the same thing. Copy is what I want. I guess it won't hurt to boot it up and look.
And yes, I see XP for $116. I duh know.
I wanted to copy the hdd before I installed AVG and ZA and Spybot and the drivers to my monitor and keyboard and everything. Anyway, it'd mean leaving Betsy.

Making a copy of the HDD is always a good idea. I don't think you will need drivers for your monitor and keyboard though unless they are something very special. I'm sure Window will have drivers at the ready for such as that. The monitor and keyboard will install as soon as you boot up.
Ahhhh yes ... leaving Betsy.... I know just what you mean. The friend didn't .... wait a minute! You have a laptop! You don't need a monitor OR keyboard! LOL There is no reason to strip Betsy. Matter of fact you can get a hub and run them both online. I have three PCs online at one time.
