My AVG has stopped a 2 or 3 from web pages. SpyBot has caught a couple.
How do you like avast! ? |

I like Avast just fine, seems to be doing the job. Appears to be as good as AVG. I would still prefer AVG I think, maybe because I've used it so long and was used to it. AVG will not work with a 64 bit system.

It says here it will. My 7.5 version still works good on 98. The reviewers I've read seem to prefer AVG. |

You're right! At the time I built this PC it would not install, telling me 64bit was not supported. Hummm, now I don't know what to do, I've gotten used to Avast and it seems to be a very sturdy program.

I wonder why the fact that it won't run in 64bit mode is a downside?
Avast on the other hand fully supports the 64-bit Windows platform. Here is says, "Regular (32-bit) antivirus applications are unable to operate correctly on the 64-bit Windows platform because they rely on 32-bit kernel-mode drivers."
