Wonder why Seagate has a 400GB Barracuda for $99.99 and a 500GB Barracuda for $89.99?  The bigger they are the cheaper they are?  LOL

Go ahead and get a Terabyte while you're at it,  Dave.  From what you say I think you need it. Hitachi is suppose to be a very good brand.

I was wondering the same thing rb. the only reason I can think of is the smaller one is less risk. It could be an error on my part or theirs, their listings were all mixed and not orderly by size. One could be on sale also.

I got a blue screen this morning on startup, I don't think it will last long so change of plans, I have two 160 gig hd's sitting here, one is new and the other is the old one I removed that has Trojan in isolation. I think I will install both. First I will stick the old one in and see if I can find any lost files, then reformat it and install the 2nd hd after the first is running. That will give me 320, which should be enough.

I think I will do the switch this weekend to give me time to get internet going. Hopefully this thing will last that long.

Sound like you have a good plan mapped out.  Good luck, Dave.

rb, thought you might want to know, I have both those HDs still sitting here. I didn't install them because my HD quit making noise. It really sound bad, a grinding noise that would get worse the more work it did. Well for the last two weeks it just quit making any noise. They say it means the hd is on its way out when it makes noise but I am not so sure.

OK I think I'm in trouble, this doesn't look right, looks like I lost the forum and I need to start all over.

Since I have the forum folders in my pc, is there anyway to use these for back up? OR better yet, can I use the fix icon? Wonder what thats for...?  OK clicking on fix didn't do anything. I wonder why bigfootape says "apply" ? Somethings going on, because i do not want another forum and there is no reason to apply anything.

Lets have Blake look at it before you do anything, OK?  Maybe just hitting the Fix icon will do it, don't know.  OK, I see that you did already.

I'll send an SOS to Blake ......

ok rb I will wait, but I think he's mad at me, I hope not.

I do see it in my directory, there should be some way to get it installed again without having to start over.

I may call ix and see but I think that is like chat, they will want me to use the ticket which has started yesterday mid day.
