Same with the DVD I created with that Flash SlideShow Maker. I think that's just the way it works, I was thinking it might have some thing to do with my PC.
In order to make the DVD playable in the DVD player connected to the TV I think you will have to buy a program like that IphotoDVD.

For slideshows I'm using adobe elements premiere. I can also make a slideshow with ps elements 5 and save as a pdf which makes great slide shows for computers, but it passes the show to premiere for burning to dvd.
