Well Dave, speaking for myself I know so little about the "skys" that looking at pictures, no matter how fantastic, don't mean much to me.  Unless I'm looking up from my yard at the beautiful stars, moon, clouds .... I know people are fascinated at what is out there that can't be seen by the human eye but it's all a mystery to me.

Dave since you're so good (and eager) at putting stuff on you web pages you might really like this:

Poly9 FreeEarth: It's like Google Earth, but Flash-based, and slower

We can't count the number of times we've wished we could embed an interactive globe on our web sites. That's probably because it's hard to figure out how to count to zero. But if you really want a Google Earth-like globe on your page, Poly9's got you covered. The company's FreeEarth bears a superficial resemblance to Google Earth or Microsoft's Virtual Earth. But unlike those applications, FreeEarth is Flash based and can be customized and added to pretty much any web site.

Mojo, google sky is part of google earth now, the icon is on toolbar:

rb, I spent about $600 or so on telescopes, hundreds on maps and books and spent many hours searching for things with telescope only to be left with a soar neck and frustration. Now I can not only see all this in google sky in my easy chair, but I can see everything every man made telescope has taken photos of. It is amazing to be able to fly around the universe and see where we are and where everything is. This includes super nova, nebula, galaxies and much more.
