I can't believe I'm promoting a screen capture app other than Gadwin!! However, I sent this link to Catmando and he is using it and liking it very much. He has been a SnagIt fan for years and years. With SnagIt you can capture a scrolling page and capture a section of the screen in free hand fashion, that is make a circle or such. I may even give it a whirl.

This is an older version (that's why it's free) but still worth the price (free!). Here are a few of the features you get with SnagIt:

* Capture a region
* Capture a file
* Capture a scrolling window (like an entire web page)
* Capture a freehand region (draw a shape around the portion of the screen you want to capture

SnagIt

Click on the link SnagIt 7.2.5 and then click on SnagIt.exe from the list of files to download. Post back if you need help. I think you will get a page that asks for your email address and they send you a registration key. You will need that registration key to open the program.

My windows vista comes with a great snipping tool, called "snipping tool". It has the pen line drawer, a highlighter and more. Its pretty nice but I don't use that pc on the internet much.

"Snipping tool" sounds great! Probably as good or better than SnagIt. I don't know what I would do without a snipping tool, I bet I have used mine a million times. Or close to it. The Screen Capture that comes with Windows (at least W2K) sucks. LOL

To be clear, that is vista that has snippit and I haven't checked it out yet. Snagit has a lot of features and it takes a little time to check it all out, but it is very simple to use. I like the time delay for opening memus to show inside, I like to arrows that can be added easially, I like the video capturing but havn't used it yet, I like everything about it. I have not used any other so I don't know how it compares to gadwin.

One thing it can't do is get a screenshot of itself, lol, I had to do that the hardway.

Well snagit expired and I'm not pating $38. I tried your program rb, then tried http://www.etrusoft.com/ and I like theirs better and uninstalled the one you use, it just doesn't have many features. I really like this one, it almost does everything snagit did.
