Sounds like a very good deal for eBay sellers! Their privacy statement is pretty standard, much like you find with most products of this type.

I'm going to bookmark the site in case I ever decide to sell on eBay, I have thought about it.

They are selling your information, thats how they make money. I don't find that as the norm. I try not to download anything that sells my info. I would never agree to those conditions.

BTW rb, I sold 2 ebooks now with that bf slideshow. People do sell them in there and you can get them for almost nothing. I have been hanging out in a few groups to learn some of this stuf. One is on the ebooks. You can buy for a dollar and have resell rights, so you can sell as many as you want. Some even give them away because there is links to their sites in them. All kinds of stuff, like recipes etc.

Dave, you might want to read eBay's privacy statement. They all pretty much are the same. This is from Auctiva's privacy statement:

To whom we disclose personal information
We take your privacy seriously. You have the right to limit the use of your email address by third parties through the opt-out process available to all Auctiva members. In addition, all email correspondence sent to you by Auctiva will offer an unsubscribe option. If you do not choose to limit the use of your email address, Auctiva may occasionally share this information with carefully selected partner companies whose products and services we feel may be of interest to you.

Sounds safe and give you options, right? Course it only talks about email addresses but what else would there be? Credit Card number, they sure aren't going to give that out! Home address? I never give my correct home address to places like this anyway.

Without reading ebays policy - ebay makes their money through auctions, and etc, they do not sell your data to third parties. That outfit above does not have google ads, they do not get a percentage of ebay sales, they make their money selling your information, which includes your every keystroke. Now if they sold credit card numbers they wouldn't be in business, so of course not, but they sell emails, words, searches, purchases etc and they do this by inserting spyware, not cookies like ebay, but spyware that slows your pc down.

Now what they do isn't that much different from some free softwares you get on internet, whats different is their fine print is easy to read and not hidden as much as say, some you get with video converters etc. But it did take me awhile to find that page with fine print, it was the last page of their website, I was about ready to give up and just be left in wonder how they made their money.

I know ebay tracks me while in there, I see it when ads show items I searched for, and this is a good thing. If ebay were to track me while not in ebay, that would be a bad thing and they wouldn't be in business long.
