You know how unique my PC is, it's different from everyone else's. Things just don't seem to work the same for some reason.
BTW, using Firefox, does pressing Shift+Ctrl+W close the page for you. I don't know if I ever asked you that.

It closes the entire application, not just a page in it...

It works the same in Opera too. But in Opera, you can set it to confirm exit which would avoid the problem altogether...

I can get Confirm Exit with a tab but not a window. If I open a New Window and hit those 3 keys it closes with no warning at all.
I'm curious to see what if anything worked for Bobby. With IE opening new windows maximized that is.

| OK. I tried the first method suggested by RB but it didn't work. I still got a smaller than usual window with some links. When I clicked the IE Icon next to the start menu and/or some of the other icons on my desktop it went to the full-sized window. Others would still open in a small window. So........ I installed http://www.jiisoft.com/iemaximizer/index.asp and now all windows open full sized. But each time I can see a delay while it is enlargeing the window. Thanks for your help. |

| open your window and while it is small, right click next to your start button and click on tile windows horizontally then close the window. Open it again and it should be fine. If not repeat those steps and choose tile windows vertically |

I tried both methods Glenn but when I re-opened the new window it still opened as a small window.
As long as I keep http://www.jiisoft.com/iemaximizer/index.asp enabled it resizes the windows. This is a IE Window Maximer program. Each time that a window opens small there is a slight hesitation while the program re-sizes the window. |

| ok try this. Instead of closing the window with the x in the top right, go to file in your menu and close the window that way. |
