Good News I think I found a host for that image rater project.

Soon we will be able to get to the bottom of the image rater issues it looks like.
If we can I think I will start to build a portal page for it. so that every one can have access to this. I think it will be a nice addition to the forum community.

This is perfect it has ASP and also SQL.
Another fun project about to start . Woot! I hope I have time with hockey season beginning..

He responded to me about 3 hours later.
They hope to have the US servers up this weekend.
They will have a one time fee of $1 for each additional service they provide. It will come with one database and several other things. I will try to get you a complete list.
So if say you need another data base you pay 1$ and its yours for life.
Not to shabby. They are trying to correct a lack of email currently because windows servers don't come with email I guess. So they are going off site to solve that issue. I told him that slow email response is unacceptable for me because I count on email to let me know when some one posts so I can respond in a timely manner and I need it as fast as possible.. Responses in seconds not minutes are impairitive. Hes looking into it and getting back to me. Looks good so far. Hes even said that he would make sure that adjustments were made so phpbb mod installs would not be impaired by file size and type ect.
Looks like hes willing to work with us to get it fully functional.
If so I will move my site to that server. I need to know first though that it is what its supposed to be. But I should be able to get to the bottom of that during installation.

Even if you pay a dollar and discover it isn't everything that you hoped, you wouldn't be out much. It sounds like they are working hard to make you happy though, so that's a good sign...

Yes but in order to recommend them they will have to be able to make everyone happy. With fully functional forums with quick email, fully functional ftp access for mod installation with EM and under 1 sec page load times consistently.
If they can do that then I will promote them.

LOL, aren't you asking for a bit much? Even paid for sites aren't perfect.
1 second page load time consistently? Won't a lot depend on what's ON the page?

Well I have had sites that are just that good. Forum pages are not very heavy, Load times depend on client side connections as well as server side connections though. I would be judging from my connection with is an extremely fast dedicated T-1 line. If I was on cable or dsl I would expect some inconsistency.
But from here I will expect a professional level connection if I am going to support their service.
I have sites right now that even with heavy pages load in under 2 seconds.
With a new install of phpbb2 the load times were .5s load times, of course if you make a image intensive page or you have things on the page that are dependent on other sites... such as off site chat boxes etc. things will tend to slow down a bit. But When you get off that page to a basic pgpbb2 page I would again expect it to drop to 1 sec or less from my connection.
That is the norm for my connection when receiving phpbb pages from a fast reliable server.
Awardspace is about 1.5s load times on my empty index page.
This seams ok but once you start adding stuff it goes exponential on you.
That page needs to be .5s a 66% higher load time turns into 3 seconds or better when you have the entire index page completed.
If the basic install starts at ,5s then when your ready for traffic it should be about 1.0s
