Anyone have any idea why my favorites don't work in vista? I have spent hours and I just cannot figure it out. I save a site, then it doesn't show up anywhere, If I save it again, it prompts to save over the other.

The error is "the target of this internet shortcut is not vaild. Go to the internet shortcut property sheet and make sure the target is correct".

I have favorites turned on and checked everywhere I could find.

I am led to a directory by right clicking on favorites in start menu, I see my websites I saved, but when I click on them all I get is the invalid error. I'm pulling my hair out. I spent too much time just trying to get google to replace the forced on me yahoo.

If I left click on favorites, I get empty folders, if I right click the directory opens with "the target of this internet shortcut is not vaild. Go to the internet shortcut property sheet and make sure the target is correct".

All I can do is save a shortcut to my desktop, thats the only way I can save a site.

Not sure this will help you or not but it's worth a look see. Since I have never even seen Vista none of this makes sense to me.

I had a feeling the shared stuff was causing problems. I don't know but I should be the only user, but with vista I don't know which way is up.

That top link sounds like the fix. Now do you see what I have to go through?

I think someone dropped vista on the floor when it was young, it has brain damage.

Guess what rb? It did not work.

I am not on a network, so I am not seeing anywhere where I can click "view offline". I right clicked on every favorites folder there is severl times and I don't see that option.

I tried opening google and I checked to view off line but that did nothing. I am still pulling my hair out. I will try the second link.

That's strange. I'm not on a network either but I get the option to "Make available offline". I'm running W2K and IE6

I was in help from HP and it might be my user accounts. I am to start a new one then try to import.

I don't have that menu rb, it won;t show the off-line option.
