I guess it is pretty hard to get raw video from a dvd movie. I'm kindof glad, that way people can't steal my footage easially.
I can open a dvd movie in my roxio 8 "my dvd", an editor program and I think I can in my adobe premiere, but I just saw that option in roxio yesterday. |

I'm not sure if it works the same in W2K but in XP if Autoplay is enabled, the movie will start to play automatically and you won't be taken to the options window that Dave is talking about. To enable/disable autoplay go to My Computer > click on "Properties" of the drive that you want to enable/disable autoplay on > click on the autoplay tab at the top of the properties window > go th the selection arrow below the tabs in the properties window and from the resulting drop-down window choose "video files" > but first pot a dot in the area below the drop-down menu under actions, select action to perform > highlight Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer > click apply and OK.
Try this in your W2K and see if it works. |

No, I said in the post above your last one that I don't get the same options you do in XP. Doesn't matter really, our problem here isn't auto play. I can easily shut the movie down when it launches and look at the files on the disc.
However, I did find instructions on how to prevent auto play from launching in Win2000 if I want:
