I have a Microsoft Natural PS/2 keyboard and the quick access buttons on the right-hand end of my keyboard will not work. I was thinking about purchasing a new keyboard with these function buttons on it but I wanted to try and fix this one if possible. I'm not talking about the function keys across the top of my keyboard. The ones that I'm talking about are the programmable ones on the far right side. It has a volume control, play CD, two programmable ones, word processor, internet help and last, a help button. At one time I accessed the window where the functions could be assigned to each of these keys but forgot where I found it. It's not in Control Panel > Keyboard. Any ideas?
PS. There is a mute button below the volume control button. |

I'm not sure, Bobby, but didn't some software come with that keyboard. I think it has to be installed and that's when you configure or program in your choices. You probably lost all that when you lost your HDD. Do you have a CD for it? If not maybe you could do a search on the WWW for that keyboard and they may have the software for you to download.
Just guessing for the most part. I don't have any such fancy do dads. LOL

I don't know if this is of any help, not sure if it's a driver you need but it's a place to start and too they have something called a Driver Detective on this site and just using that sounds like fun! LOL

Hey my Texas Rose buddy. I have decided to order a BRAND NEW large print keyboard from WorldStart for $19.97. The software for my keyboard has gone where much-needed software goes after a couple of years and I have no idea where it is. This is the original keyboard that I got when I got my first PC. That's old! Time for a new one. This new one has a row of programmable buttons across the top (Above the function keys). Why not buy a new one? It didn't cost me anything! I just clicked a few places and here it comes!
Thanks for the links that you provided for me. I couldn't get past the first obstacle. Belarc Advisor says that I have a Microsoft Natural PS/2 keyboard but the name on the Keyboard says it is an IBM and it gives the model number. Go figure.. It's going to feel strange to use a new keyboard after all these years. |

You'll get used to it in no time and I'm sure you will love it. Report back on how much you like it. I may consider getting one also, I think I need one, I'm running out of good keyboards around here. I'm now down to one that's "not so good". LOL It's a Packard Bell that I acquired lord only knows from where. I don't remember ever seeing a Packard Bell PC in the house. Maybe someone sneaked it into my house and left it thinking it was a good way to get rid of it.
