I manually ran Spybot S & D this morning and got this as a threat.  What does it mean?

Microsoft.WindowsSecurityCenter.AntiVirusOverride

If you go to Start > Control Panel > Security Center > Resources and click "Change the way Security Center alerts me" it will open the "Alert Settings". There are three Alerts available:

  1. [X] Firewall
Alert me if my computer might be at risk because of my firewall settings

  2. [X] Automatic Updates
Alert me if my computer might be at risk because of my Automatic Updates settings

  3. [X] Virus Protection
Alert me if my computer might be at risk because of my virus protection software settings

When any of these alerts are unchecked, the Windows Security Center will *-NOT-* notify you if any of the above are disabled. However, Spybot Search & Destroy will detect these changes and report that the registry settings are different from the expected defaults in its database which are set to show that all three Security Center alerts are enabled. If you have intentionally disabled any of them, then you can safely right-click and tell Spybot Search & Destroy to exclude them in future scans.

Thanks for the links to the answer to my question.  Nothing has changed on my PC but the parameters of the search on Spybot S & D have.  I use AVG as my AntiVirus protection and Spybot refuses to recognize it as functioning.  I have been getting a message telling me that I show no anti virus protection for a long time.  I just ignore it because I know I do.

What is the link for DirectTrack .....Spies for?

DirectTrack

Off hand I would think it would be a cookie to track your surfing but it doesn't say it's a cookie.  So I don't know how it's embedded on your PC.  Might be in a program you downloaded.

In Spybot you can tell it to ignor whatever you want, just put a check mark by what you want it to ignor.

L@@KY here!

A review of Spybot which is ok BUT look at all the good stuff at the bottom of the page, the blue lines of text, way down the page.  A lot of good help on all kinds of stuff!  I'm bookmark that page.
