My folders in OE6 "Deleted E-Mails are in a helter-skelter fashion. I have tried everything to re-arrange them into alphabetical order for easy access but have not been able to figure out how to do it. Dragging and dropping won't work. Right-clicking them to send them to another folder for re-arrangeing them won't work because that option doesn't appear in the right-clicking menu. I don't want to lose the e-mails that are already in the folders. Is there a way to do this? See SS enclosed. As you can see from the SS, some are under other folders where I don't want them.

First of all I don't understand why you created folders under Deleted Email. The folders would work better under Local Folder
The folders ARE in alpha order. You appear to have Donna's folder under Local Folder, the very top is not showing so I can't really tell. It also appears her's is the only one that is actually placed correctely. I take it for example you would like to move Ed Steinocher ESP 1, right.
Just grab old Ed and pull him to the top and drop him in Local Folders. He will appear in the same line as Donna.
Then if for instance you grab Bob's folder and do the same thing with it, PC Mechanic and PC World will go along with it and Bob's will then be on the same line as Donna and Ed.
Are you following me? I mean my instructions! As you drop each one onto Local Folders they will appear in alpha order.
Inbox through Draft are set folders you can't move them or put any folder between them,
all new folders will go underneath. I created some folders just to make sure they would appear in alpha order

You can drag the folders but you have to drag them to Local Folders and let go.
If you have sub folders in the wrong folders drag them to the folder you want them in.
If you have someone in a sub folder and you want them to have a place of their own drag them to Local Folder and drop. They will appear in the line up in alpha order.

Because I didn't know better. But now I do! I didn't know that draging and dropping will work only if they are dragged to the Local Folders. The reason that I put under deleted e-mails was because they WERE deleted e-mails that I had wanted to save for one reason or another. A lot of then were information that I wanted to keep in the folder that had the sender's name on them. I've got it lined out now. Thanks for your help. |
