I'm not sure, Karen, but I sure wish there was! If you look mine up you see all my real and personal information, name, address, POP3 email address! I guess I could have provided fake information or at least a junk mail box at the time I registered the domain name but heck it never even crossed my mind. I didn't know all that information would be so easily accessible to the public.
One place told me they hide the info for you if you want and another told me you have to pay extra to have that done. However, after a while I forgot about and I never followed up to find what's available for me in that regard. Maybe I need to talk to IX about it.

Actually looking around in the CP to see what I can see! LOL Should have done this a long time ago. This is interesting .....
According to Who Is my registar is Tucows but I don't know how that happened. Unless what it actually means is just that Tucows is providing the info but I don't think so. Although I got my domain name THROUGH IX and it's them I pay to renew it as I understand it's another place that it actually comes from. I did know at one time but don't remember anymore. IX is sort of a reseller for the domain name.
Yeah, make me dizzy too!

I thought this happened automatically when I signed on to IX but I guess not. Looks like I have to manually switch my paid domain registration to free! Something else I didn't know...

OK, I did it! Now I only have two more free domians instead of three. Big deal I have enough keeping up with one why would I want more anyway? LOL

| wow that got my head spinning. They said for security reasons its locked. So why would I want to unlock it if I'm not going to transfer it? I don't get it but I would like to save 20 bucks. |

I didn't unlock anything, fishead, I just choose free for my domain name. I pay $20 a year for it. You get three free Domain names with IX. I have a paid Domain name and just choose to have that one be free. I still have two more left.

Oh great!!
BTW I registered another domain name and I could opt out of the WhoIs so i did that. I think I looked at the details before I opted out and it freaked me out!
Now I'm all hidden again  |
