To turn Auto Play ON or OFF go to My Computer, right-click on the drive that you want to turn Auto Play ON or Off and go to Properties at the bottom of the resulting menu. Click properties and then click on the AutoPlay tab. This will bring up a properties window with single box followed by a larger box below. Using the arrow at the right of the smaller box, scroll to the item that you want to change. Choose the player that you want to play the DVD movie, Dvd video, CD or whatever and click apply/OK att he bottom. You'll notice that I have a couple od choices in each catagory. Do you have another player installed besides RealPlayer? I have Windows Media Player, MusicMatch Plus, Power DVD and AVRack. What do you think about installing another player and trying it to see if it will play your DVDs? Or is resources a problem with your PC? I used to have Realplayer but don't remember what it could be doing that it won't show your DVDs.
I just got another idea. You and James could come up here and use my PC to play your DVDs. We're having pot roast today!
And yes you should be able to put the DVD in your drive and click on the drive selected and start the movie.

This is how to make Windows Media Player your default player. Why don't you try this first to see if WMP will play your DVD.
Where did the window with all of your players listed come from?

And here is MY Nero Showtime! I didn't even realize that I had it. I'm going to go explore my Nero more closely. Did you notice that MY
Nero Showtime is bigger (and probably better) than yours?
