I was getting a pop-up screen advising me that my AVG Free 7.1 was expiring on 1/15/o7 so I just updated to the new AVG Free 7.5.432 version. Go to http://free.grisoft.com/doc/avg-anti-virus-free/lng/us/tpl/v5 to D/L the new 7.5.432 version. If you click above on the link , you are brought to the site for the new (still free) version.
Download, but instead of installing it, run the repair option and then
you'll be notified that you have the new version of AVG. (it sort of
upgrades your present version) And don't forget to update it. You'll see
what I mean as it's running the repair/update

Thanks Bobby!! Good post. I have mine upgraded and it worked just the way you discribed.

I'm really glad you posted this because I have found some people have not upgraded thinking the FREE version is coming to an end. But it's not, the 7.1 version is coming to an end, AVG is still free.

Also they have a new little utililty called AVG Anti-Spyware Free. Comes in the free version and paid version.

It's a bit confusing the way they do it, when you download it you get the FULL version to use for 30 days, I think, and if you don't buy the paid version at that point some of the features are disabled, however, it remains a working program.

Actually that new little program is the old ewido program which AVG has purchased and renamed. I have the ewido App (a great little program by the way) and I imagine soon it will quit updating and I will need to get the AVG Anti-Spyware Free.
