I have installed ZA (purchased version) and it worked fine except I could not get my 3 at home computers to connect.  I tried every ZA way there was and it just would not happen.

Maybe I need to find out how to disable theirs.

I went back to windows ie, I tried opera a few days, somethings I liked but other things were iffy. Then I checked my website and noticed my movies didn't show up at all on opera and I couldn't shut it down fast enough, so its back to windows ie again.

I do like the windows still, but those tabs are getting on my nerves. I will continue to trial them a little longer before I turn them off. The idea is good, but they are too wild and chaotic for me.

Darn, my posts are all over the place, I'm about to fix that.

NR, this page: http://www.fisheadtackle.com/movie9pounder.html

It is a windows movie file.

After installing roxio 6 and 8 my pc takes twice as long to load now, which is still pretty fast so I can live with that. What I mean is the activity light is blinking.

So I ran spyboot to see if there is any spy cams slowing me down, and there was, but none from roxio, I will list as I saw - I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, but this appears to be -

1. Window antivirous notice - one spy cam;

2. Opera, two or three is all, not bad since its active still, I haven't uninstalled yet;

3. IE7 windows browser - one;

4. Firefox, which is uninstalled completely and I went through program files and temp files to hunt it down and remove every trace since I had 27 spy cams in their name last week under their name - Yesterday I found 17 spycams under firefox !!!!!!!! !!!!!!!! 17? You got to be kidding me?

These are tracking cookies from several companies. Nothing is for free. I like the idea of using other brands to keep things compettive, but firefox inturn betrays the very people that support it, it appears to me anyway.

I will come back to see if anyone wants to let me know if I am wrong.

Fishead, most of what you see as spy cams is in cookies, bookmarks or cache. The more you surf the net the more you're going to pick up.  Some sites are worse than others about planting stuff on your PC.  Like that site you sent us to the other day!  LOL  WOW!

I just ran Ad-aware and it found one entry and that was in IE cache.  I try to empty the cache in Netscape everyday but since I very seldom use IE I don't bother with it. I have four browsers installed.

When you uninstall a browser, or most programs, there are files left behind in Documents and Settings that you need to delete manually.  Just be sure of what you're deleting.  Check to see if the Firefox uninstall left behind it's settings, the bookmarks, cache and other stuff may still be there.  Here is what the path may look like, I run W2K.  Your's would be on C:\, my OS is on the D:\ drive.

D:\Documents and Settings\Rosalie\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\mon73iig.default

Fishead, what type of movie are you attempting to display here?  It appears that you designed the page to be browser specific.  In other words, you coded it to work in IE.  I see VB script, which is M$ code...

Unless you only want your web pages to work for your customers who are using IE, then you might want to consider modifying the code so that it will work correctly in any browser.  There really isn't any good reason to support only one browser when it is easy to code for all of them...

NR, I don't know, yes I want it to work for every browser. You caught me off guard, let me think, ..... I save it as a mpeg, I use both web size and cd size, when I save these they are windows media player wmp, I skip the option to use quicktime since they got so invasive I don't have them on this pc at all. I think I am loading them as mpeg into "insert media" in my website builder. The code is automatic and I don't have to mess with codes except for the youtube codes, and google codes, but that is basically a hot link.

I think I have both types, the wmp and mpegs, I will have to check, but I am so behind lately, my website was in terrible shape and I am doing a lot of work with it.

I do want to get a website other than homestead. I told the wife its like learning to drive without actuually driving, I can only learn so much without jumoping in. She told me to do it, to get a new host and etc. I will need the paid version of firstpage, because this is just wasting my time and getting no where fast. I just don't understand the process. I get a domain name, I get a host, then I use firstpage to make pages and then upload with ftp. I think a forum is a table I can add to a page. From there, it is learning everything on the run. Then I could publish and see what is what and from there I will be learning lots about codes. The baby is getting older and I am getting more and more time back.

I'm kindda late on this topic. But I'v got IE7 to (after a long time :p ) And it has really improved. I like it far better than Firefox. But it does take far longer to start up. (about three times longer than Firefox)

I have IE7 installed on another PC that is not hooked up right now so I can't actually look at it and tell you all the things I don't like ....  LOL ...  but I do remember I didn't like the missing menu along the top.  The File, Edit, View, Tools .... all that is gone!  I never got a chance to mess with it too much so they may just be elsewhere but I don't like when things change so much, I feel lost!  LOL

You can get the menu bar. Just right click anywhere at top and turn it on.
