I found a better photo album mod that can be incorporated into phpbb boards. It has more features and looks much better, but it's not free. I can't afford it so will have to try and save for it. You can find it at http://www.photopost.com/

Now the big question.... Would it take much to delete my current album mod and all photos? Maybe just delete the photos and keep the code there?

What do you think?

The Smartor's Photo Album modified 9 phpBB files. The modifications aren't difficult, so it wouldn't be that hard to reverse them. You would have to do it manually though and you would want to be careful to make good backups just in case. You would also have to remove the Photo Album Block Add-on MOD that modified 4 files..

Of course you could simply remove the links to Smartor's Photo Album and leave all the MOD code in alone. It won't hurt if it remains. You would still want to remove the Photo Album Block Add-on MOD code though since it is visible on the Index page...

Yes it might be easier just to remove the links and the block from the index. Then just delete wherever the photos are stored. I am still thinking about this. My moderator wants me to ask for donations but I don't feel comfortable asking for money.

I can certainly relate about asking for donations. I feel the same way. You can always add a Paypal link and let your members decide whether to donate to the cause or not. If you get nothing, then there's really no loss. But anything you get will help...

My moderator put a post on the board and I have my first donation of $50Aus. I rang the member and had a good long chat with him. We have a few plans for the site in the future and can see it growing in the next few months to the best source of aviation info in Australia.

Ps I just launched stage 1 of the new design, minus the new graphics

I think I may. It looks like I might be able to do it, not sure though. Before I get this album, I am going to move to another host offering 55gb of space. With what we have planned, we will need it.
