Email Encoder is a great Freeware soft Wink i use it myself, in fact any web developer should, it will help battle against spammers, Wink
basically what it does is you type in your email address and what you want to say, and email encoder will generate the html code, only it converts the actull email address into hex decimal, therfor completly avoided by spam bots and web spiders / crawlers Yeah

These Next 2 Posts Will Show And Explain How To Eliminate Spy/Ad/Malwares Getting Onto Your PC's

if your PC is suddenly running very slow, and taking long times to responde to simple commands, then chances are your infected with spywares or malware on your system..

the main thing which can be achieved with a strong HOSTS file, and what i do with mine is to simply Block Unwanted Parasites Wink it is quite possible to eliminate all spy / add / malwares from ever entering on your PC, and can in fact make IE a safe browser engine to use once again Yeah

What it does ...
The Hosts file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. This file is loaded into memory (cache) at startup, then Windows checks the Hosts file before it queries any DNS servers, which enables it to override addresses in the DNS. This prevents access to the listed sites by redirecting any connection attempts back to the local machine. Another feature of the HOSTS file is its ability to block other applications from connecting to the Internet, providing the entry exists.

You can use a HOSTS file to block ads, banners, 3rd party Cookies, 3rd party page counters, web bugs, and even most hijackers. Yeah This is accomplished by blocking the connection(s) that supplies these little gems.

Example - the following entry 127.0.0.1 ad.doubleclick.net blocks all files supplied by that DoubleClick Server to the web page you are viewing. This also prevents the server from tracking your movements. Why? ... because in certain cases "Ad Servers" like Doubleclick (and many others) will try to open a separate connection on the webpage you are viewing.

it is called HOSTS with no extension, and can be opened and edited simply using notepad, but its more convienient to use a 3rd party HOSTs file manager like this one, ive recently started to use this one as it has much more features, before i was using the other freeware soft called Hoster also a very good free simple to use hosts manager, that one can be found here

and this hosts file will block ALL commonly known nasty stuff which is purley made to spy on you and bombard you with addverts Evil or Very Mad

you can eliminate all malwares from ever enter yout PC with a strong hosts file Wink it is also very good to add more control if you have children, and there is some sites you dont want them looking at Smile also its possible to lock the hosts file so it cant be edited or changed untill you unlock it, as some clever malwares will attempt to remove there own entrys from your hosts file Evil or Very Mad

NOTE
also, having extremly large host file, ie: 1-2mb or higher, can make browsing slow, and also system boot will be slow as windows will cache the entire hosts file upon rebooting windows, which with a huge hosts file can ,and will take an awfull long time, there are ways around this, and 1 would be to disable the DNS client under services in the computer management console (right click my computer, manage, services) but this can also make browsing web pages slower also
so another option is to either keep your hosts file to a reasonable size, with only the important entrys, ie: most threats to you, my hosts file is around 300kb, which blocks pretty much everything i want it to for my stlye of web browsing Wink also, you may think about this freeware software by funkytoad called homer read more and download here

SpyBot search and destroy Yeah my faverote, as it is completly controllable over everything Wink this completely free anti spyware software is really quite more than just a spyware protection soft, what most people dont know, is that there is fact a whole lot more to this software than meets the eye Wink
you see as defualt it is set on basic mode, well if you change it to advanced expert mode, youll reveal a whole load of cool usefull features, definetly a must have software IMPO Wink also with tea timer protection, a very small registry monitor that wont allow nothing to be added to the reg without you saying to allow, allways allow or block first Yeah also IE SDhelper is installed too.. this software really does come with so many features its amazing its still completly free Yeah

install, run the program, update the definitions file and restart the soft and scan Yeah
also bundled with this comes AD Watch which is a same thing as the SpyBot teatimer, but i dont recomend to use both, as this will slow PC down, and this one is heavy on resources, so i strongly advise just to use the SpyBots Tea Timer protection Wink

i cant state how imprtant it is to allways keep this software programs up to date.
so as soon as you run each one, 1st thing you do on all of them is to search for updates.. the spyware blaster is NOT a scanner, the main porpose of this software is to run it once a week, and check for updates, if updates are available, then download them and apply all protection, this will add more nasty sites to your restricted zones in internet settings, therfor preventing the spyware to ever come on to your PC in the 1st place, as there cut of at the source, your PC will deny any access at all to any of the sites listed, so they cant even get in silently (which is how they normally allways do Evil or Very Mad )

the other 2 softwares are scanners, NOT realtime scanners, meaning they wont be running all the time, so you have to open them once in a while, check for updates and then scan, this should be done on a regular basis, i do mine at least once a week with both programs Yeah

this is exactly my protection against spyware and malwares, with these 3 softwares and the strong hosts file, youll eliminate spyware all together Proud and the best thing is, it wont cost you a single penny Yeah

pestpatrol 4.4 something trial(works always no evaluation periot) does realtime scanning and deletes and updates (realtime mode) only after scaning manualy (mode) it does not deletes therefor u must buy. trial version 5 does expire i beleve so look for the old trial version 4.4....

as well as many many other cool really usefull freeware tools, like KazaaBegone Wink a good uninstaller program that will remove all elements of kazza which we all know has lots of nasty progs bundled with, this latest version will also remove all winsock hijackers correctly aswell Wink usefull to use if only just once as even after removal they will still rename in your system Wink

another great usefull tool from the Merijn.org crew, is the BFU (brute force uninstaller)
Brute Force Uninstaller (BFU) is a scripting program that can execute a series of preset commands like a Windows batch file, aimed at uninstalled programs that are hard to remove, uninstall improperly or simply unwanted. Scripts are plaintext and can be written with Notepad, and the command syntax is very transparent.
BFU is very complete and powerful, has a small memory footprint and has no uninstaller.

IBProcMan is also a good program from them, (itty bitty process manager) it stands for, and is just that, will show many processes that msconfig will not show, very usefull indeed Wink Note this is included in the hijack this program, it is just a stand alone version of it Wink

ADS Spy: A small tool to list, view or delete Alternate Data Streams (ADS) on Windows 2000/XP with NTFS file systems. ADS are a way of storing meta-information about files, without actually storing the information in the file it belongs to, carried over from early MacOS compatibility from Windows NT4. This meta-information is not visible in Windows Explorer.
Recently browser hijackers began using this technique to store hidden information on the system, and even store trojan executable files in ADS streams of random files on the system. Use with caution, Windows and several antivirus programs also store (temporary) information in ADS.

StartupList: A simple tool that lists all and every auto starting program on your system. You might be surprised what it finds, this is way better than Msconfig. Commonly used to troubleshoot malfunctioning systems, trojan/viral infections, new spyware/malware breed and the likes.

mcafee stinger, again mcafee is a very well known and highly trusted internet security company, probally one of the best in the world simply for how fast they update Wink the stinger is not a replacment real time scanner, its just a scanner and can be used to carry on a USB flash disk for going and deploying to check a friends or collegue computer without having to install a complete AV system Yeah can be found here

I don't know anything about Pestpatrol but there is another program much like it called WinPatrol that I like. It puts a littleScotty Dog in your system tray.

Don't know anything about System Spec, sounds like Aida32 which I have and it's very good, however it's not being developed anymore and may not work well with newer systems. System Spec may be the answer to Aida32. Another good program that reads your system specs is Belarc, also free.

Hijackthis is a very good tool but I would not recommand fixing anything on your own. It's meant for getting a report and then posting to a forum on the Net for them to read and tell you what needs removing if anything. This is one of the best sites to post your report:
