| If I have more than one email acct will it take longer for my server to check them? Would two take longer than one, or would three take longer than two, etc? Would the differece in processing time be noticeable? |

Probably wouldn't take a noticable amount of time to check more than one but would if there was mail to download. Course an email reader doesn't just "check" mail, it checks and downloads all at the same time.
Mail Washer for instance checks and displays the headers from all your accounts in a couple of seconds regardless of how large of attachments the emails may contain because Mail Washer isn't downloading the emils and attachments only the headers and a limited amount of text.
The one advantage I like about Mail Washer is that if I see that three people are sending me an email containing a huge file (a fwd of a bunch of jpgs or a pps files) that I have already received from someone else I can just delete it on the server without ever downloading them.
Also most spam is easy to recognize from the header and I just go down the line in Mail Washer ticking them to be bounced back to the sender right from the server without ever downloading them to my HDD.

| Thanks Rosalie. The time to process multiple accts was what I was wondering about and from your answer it wouldn't be enough to worry about. After the soul-grinding and painful experience that I just went through atempting to use multiple accounts I may try again to install additional accts. Now that I know what caused my problem before maybe I cantake it catrefully step by step and if I run into trouble I can correct it right then. |

I have no trouble knowing when I get spam. I have it all sent to the same email addy, so 99% of what I receive for that account can be safely deleted. Then in Eudora, it does a good job of filtering out other spam that trickles into my other accounts and it stores it in a Junk folder. So I can quickly look and see the spam from the good email based on which Inbox it arrives in...

I've had up to 4 email accts that actually downloaded to my computer when I was on 98 and it never caused me problems.
Hey NR I was thinking the other day, I will at some point use the board email to members. With you being a member and there being 4 boards that would mean you would need to put on your spam list. Or have you already put me there? |

I actually have email notifications for forums that I work on filtered to an Inbox where I know most won't be anything that I will need to read. So basically when I receive an email in that Inbox, I can highlight all and delete them all at once. I have several other Inboxes set up much the same. So I know by which Inbox the new email is stored in whether it is something that needs to be read or not most of the time. I actually receive email through 13 different email accounts and it all filteres to appropriate Inboxes to keep things organized. It really simplifies things for me to do it that way...
