Thanks Rosalie. I don't get the same items displayed on my drop-down menu under Format. I have OE6. The color selection works the second way you pointed out.

| After I posted thaI was seeing something diferent from you I realized that you use Netscape. When I realozed that I went to my Netscape to check that feature but I don't have an email acct in Netscape. Do you use Netscape exclusively or do you use Outlook Express also? |

I would say I use Netscape exclusively, although I also have my POP3 email accounts set up in OE also for testing purposes and in case Netscape has a temp problem with email as it has a few times in the past.

In some programs, you have to select the text before you can change the attributes for it. So highly the text, then choose the Font... option in the menu. You should be able to change the color at that point...
