Hey nr or whoever,
I want to upload a "word" doc into ebay's insert html feature intead of copy and pasting or wrting it all out everytime, how do I do this, use that FTP upload or something? This would make it so much easier if I could do this. |

| You can download Turbo Lister from eBay. It's a listing software program. You can create a template to use all the time and paste in your word document and you can copy this template numerous times. Then all you would have to change is the title, price etc... if need be |

I really don't know anything about eBay or it's limitations. It sounds like the Turbo Lister might come in handy. I've never seen or used it either though...

I will try the turbo lister, but I am already making and saving templates now.
Its not just ebay, like froggle requires the same. They say in there, that any text program can be uploaded, WORD, Notepad, power point.
I tried to configure word to make it an html document, but then what? Thats where I get lost, so I just copy and paste but I wish I could just make my page in word, then insert it later. |

OK I figured some things out, I can open any notepad in firstpage, then edit it there instead of WORD and save as first page doc. I think maybe I can just paste the code into ebays boxes that say insert html, otherwise I will try to find that ftp free download to try to see if that is what is needed. I am kindof glad no one could help because I learned it on my own, as with most everything else. People don't realize that I really haven't been on the computer all that long, so I am missing some basics.
I also answered another question I asked about capturing video in here. I needed a video card, because my pc didn't come with one. That is why I couldn't capture, and since I didn't know this, I bought a convertor that cost twice as much as the card, oh well, maybe it cost more when I bought my convertx. My son bought a new pc, and HP and same problem, thats how I figured it out, I was trying to help him.
Anyway, I am enjoying this first page, it can be addicting like my video stuff. I am proud of myself for figuring things out today, its like I get overwhe, med, but keep on going back to it later and it does soak in some.
I couldn't find a free ftp download, only a one month trial version. |

Way to go fishead. Been there, done that, still doing it! Sometimes you just have to first figure out the basics for yourself before what other people tell you makes sense.
You're doing great! Hang in there.

We're all proud of you too, fishead!! Yes you need to keep going back, each time you lean a bit more.
I'll go see what I can find in the way of a free FTP program, I'm sure there are some out there somewhere. SmartFTP used to be free for personal use, you could purchase a paid copy but I don't think it had any more than the free one, only that if you were a company you were requred to get the paid version.

Fishead, SmartFTP is still free for personal use. There is an Unlicensed version (no support) and a Licensed version. It's the Licensed Version that offers a Trial. It's rather confusing I know, the Unlicensed version SAYS Expiration but what that means is that you will be required to update it periodically (for free), seems like it's a couple times a year. See the next screen shot to see what my Smart FTP is telling me right now.
See it says to buy a License OR update to the newest verson. I didn't click the Buy Now, I clicked the download link and went to the site and downloaded the update (free) and will install it in a little while, then I won't get that message again for months.
Here is the site for downloading SmartFTP. It is possible that since you don't already have the free copy of SmartFTP to upgrade that only the trial/paid version is avaiable. You will have to just try it out and see I guess. I have had my copy for years.

After updating this is the box that pops up when you launch SmartFTP
Notice it says: Personal and Educational User ... The unlicensed verson of SmartFTP is free to use, you can ignore this license reminder.

Here is a link that is less confusing. The Free version is the same as the paid version and can be registered at any time should you decide to buy it for business purposes:
Download SmartFTP Client Setup
SmartFtp is probably one of the best Free FTP applications available. I highly recommend it to everyone....
