I have a dumb question. On my video card I have two sound plugins, one TV in, one S-video plugin. My question is, is the TV in the same as video in? When I use the s-video cable, I get no sound, and other than s-video I have another cord with three wires, two for audio, and one for..... what? I can't hook up sound and video can I? That doesn't make sence, the third wire would be just hanging there.
Is the "TV in" the same as video in on my video card?
In the book it says to use a usb, thats what I have been doing but I had to but the convertx for over 100 bucks to do so. |

I checked them out but thats mostly for TV hookup. I have tried the s video several times with no luck.
My camera has three wires as shown in those pages, but my card only has 2 audio plugins, and the svideo which replaces the three plugins. So maybe I need the bigger graphics card.
I think I did the right thing buying the convertx, because my haupauge seems to be all TV stuff as on those two sites you listed. It shows a video camera hook up in my pc book, but it uses a USB plugin. |

I never have gotton a s video to work.
I use the VCR as a go between from my satilite to my computer so I can record movies.
One cord plugs into the VCR video out the other into the computer video in the cord I have doesn't have .
With the sound only one plug goes from the VCR out to the sound card in. The other plugs dangle but It has not hurt anything in a yr that it has been hooked up that way.
When hook up the video cam it goes into the same places.
Not by no means saying this is right or even truly safe, it's just what works for me. |
