I MADE IT IN! You are such a big help rb! Thanks for going through all the trouble.

I was able to load the forum page on first page, to view. I told hoggie to download the same firstpage so we can be on the same. This way I can guide him to the meta tags etc. Also, now I can access the new website. It will take awhile to check things out, no rush into anything.

Thanks everyone for the help! This made my day! (And DH called and all is fine).

I think I got a sneak preview, now its back to learning. This first page requires a lot of code knowledge. I am lost, but progressing some. Might take a year but I'll get it .... maybe. I have made a few pages, slideshows etc., but still trying to figure out basics and get familiar with it.

Does anyone know of a page builder that is easier to use than the firstpage software?

Too many codes, I don't know how to lay the page out. I was checking and there are others. Just setting up links is a pain, and I just saw a site that loaded super slow and looked loke that firstpage on the links etc.

DH is using netscape, anyone know about that one?

Netscape does have a very good page builder called Composer. I have played around with it some but don't use for actually building any pages.

Blake prefers to use 1st page and I think they recommand that all pages on a stite be built using the same Program so I learned how to use 1st Page.  ... well almost!  LOL

If don't have Netscape installed, download and install it, have a look at Composer and see what you think.

Fishead, take a look at Nvu:
http://www.nvu.com/

It's based on Netscape's Composer, and is a somewhat graphical, drag and drop kind of HTML editor. It might be easier to use. I have it on this system, but don't use it; I like my old (and I mean OLD, from 1999, HotMetal). I have Nvu on the iBook also, and like it there better than the other editor I'd bought.

And the price is right -- free.

I'll have to check those out from netscape, sounds easier. I noticed firstpage has a 2000 edition it claims you don;t have to spend your lives messing with never ending page building with codes.

I add something, like say a calender, and I click on view, and it shows nothing. I've had it with that junk, I have better on my website, much better.

I am thinking the only way to do it right is to get my own domain name and then host and then try the universal page makers and maby try a forum like this. First I have to get rich though, so everythings on hold.  binky
