I took my PC back to the technician that built it this week to get a problem corrected. I found out yesrerday that my "D" Drive is a DVD/CD RW burner that will burn DVDs or CDs. My "E"Drive is a DVD/CD RW that will READ DVDs but not burn them. It will burn CDs. My computer is alittle over 2 years old and I had thought all this time that I had identical drives in my "E" and "D". This explains the difficulty that I was having trying to copy DVDs. But what I am still confused about is why when you click on the "D" Drive in My Computer does it present a screen saying "Please insert a disk in the "D" Drive but when you click on the "E" Drive all I get is a blank page. (Shown in the SS) Why does it not also say "Please insert a disk in the "E" Drive?
Another question. Why is the description the same for both the "E" and "D" Drives in My Computer, Everest, Aida 32 and other content-identifying software if they are different?

I don't see any difference between your two screenshots Bobby...
It does look like you have identical DVD/CD RW drives in your PC. If E is a CD burner and DVD player, is it possible that both are CD burners and DVD players???
If D is truly a DVD burner, then you will probably have to tell your software which drive to use in settings. What program are you trying to use to burn a DVD???

Oops. Â I did send you the same SS. Â I have never burned a DVD yet but I will be using Nero 5.5.

Do these property description SSs tell any more about whether both drives are identical?

Based on your screenshots, your D drive is a DVD burner but your E drive isn't. So you will have to tell your DVD burning program to use the D drive to burn the DVDs if it is already set to the E drive...

I don't think it makes much difference, Bobby. They are about the same for all practical reasons. I've tried to read and find out what the difference is but if you look for yourself you will find it's not easy. I think I did read somewhere that the - (minus) may be a tiny bit more compatable with ALL PCs.
Naturally all I have are +
